A downtown arena in the ICE District, connected to the JW Marriott and reached from the downtown pedway through Ford Hall by overpasses from Edmonton Tower and Stantec Tower. Downtown hotels sit above the North Saskatchewan River valley, and Whyte Avenue runs through Old Strathcona, south of the river.

More than half of the Oilers’ home games fall Monday to Thursday, and most start between 6 and 8 p.m. local time, so plan for a game night as well as a weekend. Ford Hall, the North Gates and the Premium Entrance open one hour before puck drop; Studio 99 opens two hours before, and Molson Hockey House, open to fans without a game ticket, at least two hours before. There’s no re-entry once you’re inside.

After the game, taxis line up on the west side of 104 Street, south of 104 Avenue; Yellow Cab is the arena’s preferred provider. Rideshare pickups use the locations on the arena’s map.

The arena publishes no pickup times or fares, and rideshare prices after the game are set by the app.

Ride the Metro Line to MacEwan station, where the arena has bike racks by its north side. Metro Line trains run between NAIT/Blatchford Market and Health Sciences/Jubilee, with stops including Churchill, Central and Bay/Enterprise Square.
Getting back
Ride the Metro Line back from MacEwan. Metro Line trains run every 15 minutes in the evening and all day on weekends.

The arena says more than 40 bus routes and 5 LRT stations are within walking distance but doesn’t name them all. Check last trains in the ETS trip planner for your date; five late-night Owl bus routes run until about 3 a.m.

Bags and screening

The bag policy allows bags and purses smaller than 12 × 12 × 6 inches, after inspection, but the prohibited-items list on the Oilers game guide allows only small clutches and wallets, so bring the smallest bag you can, or none. Rogers Place uses Evolv Express screening: have your ticket ready to scan and leave your phone, keys and wallet in your pockets or purse. Doors and re-entry

For Oilers games, Studio 99 opens two hours before puck drop; Ford Hall, the North Gates and the Premium Entrance open one hour before. Molson Hockey House opens earlier still: the Oilers game guide says two hours before puck drop and the Molson Hockey House page says two and a half, so check on the day. You can’t leave and come back in during the game, and the whole property is smoke-free, including cannabis and vapes.

Tickets and the box office

Open your tickets in Account Manager or Ticketmaster, depending on where you bought them. The box office is in Ford Hall, on the arena’s southeast side, and on game days it’s open from noon until the start of the third period. To pick up tickets at Will Call, bring the credit card you paid with and government-issued photo ID.

Event parking

The ICE District Central Parkade, on the north side of 103 Avenue, west of 103 Street, has a 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m) clearance and indoor access to the arena by its P1 elevator or the Stantec Tower Level Two pedway. Book event parking ahead through ParkWhiz; the arena says reserved spaces are held on event days. ParkWhiz lists the parkade as operated by Rogers Place and shows the price when you choose your event; rates vary by event and date.

Transit and the pedway

More than 40 bus routes and 5 LRT stations are within walking distance, including MacEwan station on the Metro Line, by the arena’s north side. The downtown pedway reaches the arena through Ford Hall. Five ETS Owl bus routes run until about 3 a.m., with transfers timed downtown on the hour and half hour.

From YEG airport to downtown

ETS Route 747 leaves Edmonton International Airport from Door 8 for Century Park Transit Centre every 30 to 60 minutes, from 4:10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. The ride from Century Park to the airport takes about 24 minutes; from the airport, the bus stops at the Premium Outlet Collection Mall and Costco first. The fare is C$6, and a cash fare doesn’t include transfers. At Century Park, take the Capital Line LRT, which shares Churchill and Central stations with the Metro Line to MacEwan. Taxis wait outside Door 9 on the Arrivals level, with a C$62 flat rate to downtown Edmonton, and rideshare pickup is outside Door 10.

Useful things to know

What size bag can I bring into Rogers Place?

The bag policy allows bags and purses smaller than 12 × 12 × 6 inches, after inspection, but the game guide’s prohibited-items list allows only small clutches and wallets. The arena’s pages mention no bag check, so leave bigger bags at your hotel.

Can I leave the arena and come back in?

No. Guests can’t leave and re-enter during the same event, so eat or finish your pregame before you go in.

Can kids go to Molson Hockey House?

Yes, until 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. you must be 18 or older to enter. It’s open to the public, so you don’t need a game ticket. The Oilers game guide says it opens two hours before puck drop and the Molson Hockey House page says two and a half; last call is an hour after the game, and doors close two hours after.

How do I get from the airport to the arena without a car?

Take ETS Route 747 from Door 8 to Century Park Transit Centre for C$6 (a cash fare doesn’t include transfers), then the Capital Line LRT to Churchill or Central and the Metro Line to MacEwan. Route 747 runs from 4:10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Taxis pick up outside Door 9 on the Arrivals level, with a C$62 flat rate to downtown, and rideshares outside Door 10.
