Go in daylight on the day before the game. The French Market’s farmers and flea markets run 10 a.m.–6 p.m., so late morning works well.

Walking the square and the market is free; food and shopping are priced by each vendor.

New Orleans & Company suggests crossing Decatur toward the river and climbing the stairs at Washington Artillery Park for the view back over the square. The French Market runs downriver along the Mississippi. It’s a way to get your bearings, not turn-by-turn directions.

The Quarter’s sidewalks are narrow and uneven, and it can be hot into the fall. Cathedral visiting hours aren’t included here; the cathedral’s own site couldn’t be read.

RTA’s Fall 2026 timetable shows a car every 30 minutes, from about 5:45 a.m. to about midnight, and no extra game-day service is published. After the game, walking may be faster than waiting.

Getting back: Follow the Saints’ gameday egress traffic and parking map and any police direction when you leave the garage.

Parking passes are mobile, and the stadium is cashless, parking included. Cars in the A, B and C lanes of Garages 1, 2, 5 and 6 and the ADA lots go through a canine vehicle screening before entry.

Getting there: Take the hotel’s free airport shuttle to MSY, then board RTA’s Airport Express (202) outside Level 1 Baggage Claim, Door 2. It stops at Poydras at Freret, near the stadium, and the fare is $1.25.
Getting back: Board the Airport Express at Union Passenger Terminal, Bus Bay 2, for the airport, then call the hotel shuttle.

The bus runs daily but only about once an hour: RTA’s Fall 2026 timetable shows the last trip from the airport at 10:10 p.m. and the last from UPT at about 9:18 p.m., so it won’t work after a Monday night game. The hotel shuttle needs a reservation.

Bags — Saints

The Saints ask fans not to bring a bag. If you do, it must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and no bigger than 12 × 6 × 12 inches, or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, plus a small clutch up to 6.5 × 4.5 inches. Non-clear backpacks, diaper bags, coolers and camera bags aren’t allowed; medically necessary items are inspected at a designated gate.

Tickets, gates and re-entry — Saints

Tickets and parking passes are 100% mobile, in the Saints app. All gates open two hours before kickoff; your ticket’s Personal Game Plan shows your entry gate. Children under two don’t need a ticket unless they need their own seat. You can’t re-enter after leaving the extended perimeter.

Useful things to know

Is it the Superdome or the Caesars Superdome?

Caesars Superdome is the current name, under a 20-year naming-rights deal announced in July 2021. Mercedes-Benz held the naming rights from 2011, so some older maps and signs still say Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints have played there since 1975, and the address is 1500 Sugar Bowl Drive.

Can I walk to a Saints game from the French Quarter?

Yes. The stadium is about a mile from the middle of the Quarter: cross Canal Street and walk west along Poydras. The Rampart–Loyola streetcar is an alternative, but it runs only every 30 minutes.

How do I get from the airport to the Superdome?

Taxis charge a flat $36 from the airport to the CBD or French Quarter for up to two people ($15 each for three or more), rideshares pick up on the middle curb outside Baggage Claim, and RTA’s Airport Express (202) bus stops on Poydras Street for $1.25.

Can I tailgate without a game ticket?

Not in Champions Square. The Saints’ tailgate there is for ticketed guests only, and your ticket is scanned at the entrance.
