Crowds are heavy after the game. Trains back leave about 30 minutes after the game ends, so note the way back to the platform before you go in.

Getting there: Walk from your hotel through Patriot Place to the gate on your ticket. Most gates open two hours before kickoff; club, suite and some hospitality entrances open three hours before.
Getting back: Walk back through Patriot Place to your hotel.

There’s no stadium re-entry at Patriots games. Patriot Place retail lots allow no event parking or tailgating.

Patriots event train from BostonDowntown Boston & Back Baytransit

Getting there: Board the MBTA event train at South Station, Back Bay or Dedham Corporate Center. For the 1 p.m. games on October 11 and 18, trains leave South Station at 10:05 and 10:45 a.m. and reach Foxboro at 11:05 and 11:45 a.m.
Getting back: Walk back to Foxboro station, about a quarter of a mile from Gillette. Trains usually leave Foxboro 30 minutes after the game ends; check the Foxboro schedule on the day.

Round-trip tickets cost $20, are sold only in the mTicket app from 11 a.m. on the Monday before the game (Thursday December 3 for the December 10 game), and can’t be refunded or exchanged. They can sell out. The regular Franklin/Foxboro Line runs to Foxboro on weekdays only, and its last train may leave before the game ends.

Getting there: Book Uber or Lyft to Lot 15, the stadium’s rideshare drop-off, closest to the CVS Health Gate.
Getting back: Walk to Lot 15 for Uber, Lyft and taxi pickup.

The stadium publishes no postgame wait times or prices. Expect a long ride back after a full stadium empties.

Getting there: Board the Providence event train, which also stops at Pawtucket/Central Falls, Attleboro and Mansfield. For the 1 p.m. games on October 11 and 18 it leaves Providence at 10:15 a.m. and reaches Foxboro at 11:30 a.m.
Getting back: Walk back to Foxboro station and board the Providence train. It usually leaves 30 minutes after the game ends.

Only one train runs from Providence for each game listed so far. The $20 round-trip ticket is sold only in the mTicket app, can sell out and can’t be refunded.

At Gillette Stadium

Free general parking and tailgating

All general lots for Patriots games are free and sit across Route 1. They open four hours before kickoff and close two hours after day games or right after night games. Tailgating may start when the lots open. Open fires, fire pits, kegs and outside catering are not allowed.

The Patriots game-day train

The MBTA runs event trains for every Patriots game at Gillette, from Boston (South Station, Back Bay, Dedham Corporate Center) and Providence (Providence, Pawtucket/Central Falls, Attleboro, Mansfield). Round-trip tickets are $20, sold only in the mTicket app from 11 a.m. on the Monday before the game, and can’t be refunded. Trains back leave about 30 minutes after the game ends.

Rideshare and taxis use Lot 15

Uber and Lyft drop off and pick up in Lot 15, closest to the CVS Health Gate. Taxi pickup is in Lot 15 too.

Bags — Patriots

Bring a clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag up to 12 × 12 × 6 inches, a one-gallon clear freezer bag, or a small wristlet or wallet up to 6.5 × 4.5 inches. Email at least 48 hours ahead for a medical exception.

Tickets, gates and payment — Patriots

Everyone at a Patriots home game needs a ticket, whatever their age. Tickets are mobile, in the Gillette Stadium app. Most gates open two hours before kickoff. The stadium is cashless and has no ATMs, and there’s no re-entry.
