The boarding point changes by game: Coach USA lists Gates 410–414 in the South Wing for September 27 and Area X, on 41st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, for the October games. Getting back: Board next to Lot K, near the Quest Diagnostics Performance Center; leave by the MetLife Gate. Return buses run for up to an hour after the game ends.

The round trip is $18. Buy online for priority boarding; cash fares must be exact. For the 1 p.m. games listed so far, the first bus leaves at 9 or 10 a.m. and the last at 12:30 p.m. MetLife says buses run until half an hour after kickoff, so go by the Coach USA times and don’t cut it close.

On NFL game days every vehicle entering the Sports Complex needs a parking permit, bought in advance through Ticketmaster. Without one you’ll be sent to the off-site lot at 20 Murray Hill Parkway ($65, cash or card) with a shuttle to Lot G. Taxis and limousines drop off free between Lots D and E.

Tailgating rules

One parking space holds one car and its tailgate; you can’t spread onto the next space, even with extra permits. No open fires, deep fryers or oil cooking, and no tents larger than 8 × 8 feet in a standard space. Fans who come by train or bus can use the pregame zones on the plazas beside the stadium.

NJ Transit runs the Meadowlands train from Secaucus Junction for big events, from a few hours before kickoff to a couple of hours after the game. The Coach USA 351 runs from the Port Authority before each game, with first and last buses posted by game on its page, and buses back from next to Lot K for up to an hour after the game.

Useful things to know

Can I walk to MetLife Stadium from a hotel?

Not really. Even World of Blue, 0.3 miles away, calls the trip a short ride rather than a walk because a highway is in between. Plan a rideshare, a train or a bus.

What’s the easiest way from Manhattan?

NJ Transit from Penn Station to Secaucus Junction, then the Meadowlands train, which drops you at the stadium. The 351 bus from the Port Authority is the other option.

Can I drive and pay at the gate?

No. Every car needs a prepaid permit on NFL game days. Without one you’ll park off site at 20 Murray Hill Parkway for $65 and take a shuttle to Lot G.

Where do rideshares pick up after the game?

In the Rideshare Zone in Lot E off West Peripheral Road, right outside the Verizon Gate. Expect surge pricing and waits of more than an hour.
