A daytime walk the day before. The Liberty Bell Center is open 9 a.m.–5 p.m.; the alley is a public street you can visit any time.

The Liberty Bell and the street are free. Independence Hall tickets carry a $1 fee when required. Elfreth’s Alley Museum is $3 for adults, $2 for ages 7–12.

From the Liberty Bell Center, cross to Independence Hall on Chestnut Street, then head east toward 2nd Street and north to Elfreth’s Alley. Use it to get your bearings; it isn’t turn-by-turn navigation.

Security screening at the Liberty Bell closes at least 5 minutes before the building. Most Elfreth’s Alley homes are private residences, so keep noise down.
