Meadowlands / SecaucusThe shortest trip to the game

Sleep a short ride from the stadium, away from Manhattan prices and crowds.

To the stadium: Take a taxi or rideshare to the drop-off between Lots D and E, or drive only with a prepaid NFL parking permit.
After the game: Walk to the Rideshare Zone in Lot E, outside the Verizon Gate, or back to your permit lot.
The tradeoff: No hotel here is a walk to the stadium; highways sit between them. Evenings out in Manhattan mean a separate trip.

Midtown ManhattanA New York City weekend with the game on one day

Stay by Penn Station or the Port Authority, where the game-day train and bus start.

To the stadium: NJ Transit from Penn Station New York to Secaucus Junction, then change to the Meadowlands train; or the Coach USA 351 from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
After the game: Take the Meadowlands train back to Secaucus Junction and change for Penn Station, or board the 351 next to Lot K within an hour of the final whistle.
The tradeoff: Rooms add nightly facility or urban fees, and nearby hotel parking starts around $50 a day. The stadium is a train or bus ride away in New Jersey.

Hoboken / Jersey CityA quieter base with its own bars and restaurants

Stay on the New Jersey side of the Hudson, with Manhattan views and neighborhood pubs.

To the stadium: Get to Hoboken Terminal, take an NJ Transit train that stops at Secaucus Junction, and change to the Meadowlands train.
After the game: Meadowlands train to Secaucus Junction, then a train toward Hoboken; check the last departures for your game.
The tradeoff: The hotel is in downtown Jersey City, not next to Hoboken Terminal. Getting to the stadium means reaching the terminal first, then two trains.

Newark (Penn Station / airport)Fly-in fans using Newark airport

Stay near Newark Penn Station and Newark airport, with Ironbound restaurants nearby.

To the stadium: From Newark Penn Station, take an NJ Transit train that stops at Secaucus Junction, then change to the Meadowlands train.
After the game: Meadowlands train to Secaucus Junction, then a train to Newark Penn Station.
The tradeoff: It’s a train trip with a change at Secaucus Junction, and Newark evenings are quieter than Manhattan’s.

Meadowlands hotel by rideshare or taxiMeadowlands / Secaucusrideshare

Getting there: Take a taxi or rideshare to the free drop-off between Lots D and E, then walk to the gate on your ticket.
Getting back: Walk to the Rideshare Zone in Lot E off West Peripheral Road, right outside the Verizon Gate, and book your ride there.

The stadium warns of surge pricing and waits of more than an hour after events. The hotels are close, but not a walk.

Meadowlands hotel by car, with a parking permitMeadowlands / Secaucusdrive

Getting there: Buy an NFL parking permit in advance through Ticketmaster; every vehicle needs one on game days. Show it before you reach the lot entrance, then park in a lot your permit allows (Gold or Platinum).
Getting back: Walk back to your lot and leave with the traffic. Note your lot letter before you go in.

Without a prepaid permit, the stadium sends cars to an off-site lot at 20 Murray Hill Parkway, East Rutherford, for $65 with a shuttle to Lot G. Permit numbers don’t reserve a spot in a particular lot.

Getting there: At Penn Station New York, take an NJ Transit train that stops at Secaucus Junction. At Secaucus, change to the Meadowlands Rail train to the stadium; the ride from Secaucus is about 10 minutes.
Getting back: Leave by the MetLife or Verizon Gate for the train, ride to Secaucus Junction, and change for Penn Station.

The Meadowlands train runs only for big events, starting a few hours before kickoff and ending a couple of hours after the game. You can buy event rail tickets in the NJ Transit app.

Port Authority by the 351 Meadowlands ExpressMidtown Manhattantransit

Getting there: Board the Coach USA 351 Meadowlands Express at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The boarding point changes by game: Coach USA lists Gates 410–414 in the South Wing for September 27 and Area X, on 41st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, for the October games. Check your game on the Coach USA page.
Getting back: Board next to Lot K, near the Quest Diagnostics Performance Center; leave by the MetLife Gate. Return buses run for up to an hour after the game ends.

The round trip is $18. Buy online for priority boarding; cash fares must be exact. For the 1 p.m. games listed so far, the first bus leaves at 9 or 10 a.m. and the last at 12:30 p.m. MetLife says buses run until half an hour after kickoff, so go by the Coach USA times and don’t cut it close.
