The local take

An arena that opened in 2004 with a Beale Street address, with blues clubs on the same street, the Memphis Rock ’n’ Soul Museum at the same address and the Peabody’s ducks marching through a hotel lobby on Union Avenue.

Most Grizzlies home games tip off at 7 or 7:30 p.m. Central, most of them on weeknights, and a few start at midday or in the early afternoon, so check your game’s time. Doors open 90 minutes before tip-off. The arena garage is sold by the season for Grizzlies games, so plan to walk, ride or park elsewhere. For a weekend trip, Sun Studio, the Rock ’n’ Soul Museum and Beale Street fill the day before.

Not in the arena garage with a single-game ticket: it’s sold by the season for Grizzlies games. Walk, ride the trolley or take a rideshare to the Fourth Street drop-off zone instead.
