Backpacks, coolers and sports bags aren’t allowed, whatever their size. As a general rule, bags can’t be larger than 15 × 10 × 4 cm, and the policy can vary by event. Outside food and drink, selfie sticks and noisemakers are also prohibited. The FAQ lists a coat check near the Lucien-L’Allier entrance that doesn’t take valuables, but the security page says there’s no coat check for items, so don’t count on leaving a bag.

For a regular 7 p.m. game, doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the Canadiens suggest confirming each event’s details. The CIBC VIP entrance on Canadiens Plaza and the M2 Marché Montréal Loto-Québec entrance open at 5 p.m. on game nights, and the “5 à 6” special offers meals and drinks for C$6 from 5 to 6 p.m.

The indoor garage is open to the public on event nights from noon, at C$20–C$45 depending on the event, and on non-event weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at a flat C$20. The Canadiens say prices are subject to change. Pickup trucks aren’t accepted during hockey games, and studded tires are never allowed.

STM bus 747 runs between Montréal-Trudeau airport and downtown. It stops at Lucien-L’Allier in both directions and at Bonaventure toward downtown. The fare is C$11.25 and includes a 24-hour pass for STM buses and the Métro, exo trains and the REM in Zone A. Check the STM’s site for the schedule.

What time do Bell Centre doors open for a Canadiens game?

Doors generally open 90 minutes before puck drop: 5:30 p.m. for a 7 p.m. game. The CIBC VIP and M2 Marché Montréal Loto-Québec entrances open at 5 p.m. on game nights.

Can I take the Métro home after the game?

Yes. Bonaventure and Lucien-L’Allier stations are both on the Orange Line, and the STM lists the last trains there between 12:47 a.m. and 1:33 a.m., depending on the day and direction. Toward Place-d’Armes and Old Montréal, the last train leaves Bonaventure at 12:49 a.m., or 1:19 a.m. on Saturdays.

Can I park at the Bell Centre?

Yes. The indoor garage opens to the public at noon on event nights, at C$20–C$45 depending on the event; prices are subject to change. Pickup trucks aren’t accepted during hockey games.
