Reliant Park and the Medical CenterWalking to the game

Sleep along Kirby Drive or Main Street, within walking distance of the stadium.

To the stadium: Walk from your hotel to Reliant Park and follow event staff to the gate on your ticket. Gates open 90 minutes to two hours before kickoff, depending on your ticket.
After the game: Walk back the way you came. Lots close an hour after the game, so the roads around the park stay busy for a while.
The tradeoff: It’s a stretch of hotels and highways around Loop 610, not a neighborhood to spend an evening in. Downtown and the Museum District are a train ride north.

Downtown HoustonA city weekend without a car

Stay among the towers and the Theater District, then ride the Red Line south to the game.

To the stadium: Board the Red Line southbound on Main Street and get off at Stadium Park / Astrodome, then walk into Reliant Park.
After the game: Walk back to Stadium Park / Astrodome and ride the Red Line northbound to downtown. Expect a queue for trains right after the game.
The tradeoff: The stadium is about six miles south. The train is the simplest way there, and trains will be crowded after the game.

Midtown, Museum District and MontroseMuseums, food and a short train ride

Stay between downtown and the stadium, near museums, Hermann Park and Montrose restaurants.

To the stadium: Board the Red Line southbound on Main Street and get off at Stadium Park / Astrodome.
After the game: Ride the Red Line northbound from Stadium Park / Astrodome back to your station.
The tradeoff: Some of the best restaurants in Montrose are a drive or a long walk from the rail line.

Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)Short trips and early flights

Sleep at the airport hotel between Terminals B and C and keep the flight home simple.

To the stadium: Drive to the lot on your parking pass, or park at Fannin South and ride the Red Line one stop to Stadium Park / Astrodome.
After the game: Walk back to your lot, or ride the Red Line back to Fannin South, and drive north to the airport.
The tradeoff: Reliant Park is more than 20 miles south, and there’s nothing outside the terminals to walk to.

Walk into Reliant ParkReliant Park and the Medical Centerwalk

Getting there: Walk from your hotel into Reliant Park with your game ticket ready. Main gates (Ford, Kroger, Phillips 66 and Xfinity) open 90 minutes before kickoff; club and suite entrances open two hours before.
Getting back: Walk back to your hotel. Everyone must leave the property after the game, and the lots close an hour after it ends.

You need a game ticket, or the Texans’ separate lot-entry ticket, to be anywhere on Reliant Park property. No official walking route from the hotels is published; follow police and event staff at crossings on Kirby Dr. and Main St.

METRORail Red Line from downtownDowntown Houstontransit

Getting there: Board the Red Line southbound on Main Street and ride to Stadium Park / Astrodome station, one stop before the south end of the line at Fannin South. METRO puts the ride from downtown at about 27 minutes. The fare is $1.25.
Getting back: Walk back to Stadium Park / Astrodome and ride northbound. METRO runs special-event service with more frequent trains during Texans home games.

Weekend Red Line trains normally run about every 12 minutes, and METRO sometimes replaces trains with shuttle buses for weekend work, so check alerts on game day. Expect crowded platforms after the game.

Getting there: Walk to a Red Line station on Main Street, board southbound and get off at Stadium Park / Astrodome. The fare is $1.25.
Getting back: Ride northbound from Stadium Park / Astrodome to your station. Special-event trains run more often during Texans home games.

Check METRO alerts before you leave: weekend shuttle buses sometimes replace trains. Montrose restaurants are off the rail line.

Rideshare to Yellow Lot 35Downtown Houstonrideshare

Getting there: Book a rideshare to Yellow Lot 35, entering at Gate 16B off Main Street, and head for the large white tent.
Getting back: Walk back to the rideshare tent in Yellow Lot 35. From the Kroger Gate, cross Kirby onto McNee and follow the path to the gate just past Lantern Point Road.

Every rideshare and taxi uses the same lot, so expect a wait after the game. Postgame traffic is heavier after night games.

Drive from IAH to a stadium lotBush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)drive

Getting there: Buy a mobile parking pass before game day, then drive to your lot. Green, Yellow and Purple lots are reached from Main Street, Blue and Red from Kirby Drive, and Maroon and Orange from the Fannin Street exit. Lots open four hours before kickoff (Platinum five).
Getting back: Police and parking staff direct cars out of the lots by traffic flow, so you may not leave the way you came. The Texans aim to clear the lots 50–60 minutes after the game.

Every lot needs a pre-purchased pass; only limited cashless parking may be sold on site. No overnight parking. Postgame tailgating ends an hour after the game.

Getting there: Drive to METRO’s Fannin South Park & Ride, 1604 West Bellfort Avenue. On Texans game days parking there costs $25–50, card only, and everyone in the car gets a round-trip wristband for the Red Line. It’s one stop to Stadium Park / Astrodome.
Getting back: Ride the Red Line one stop back to Fannin South and drive north to the airport.

METRO gives a price range, not a set price, for event parking. Check METRO alerts for weekend shuttle buses replacing trains.
