Westshore and the stadium districtThe shortest ride to the game

Sleep among the offices, malls and chain hotels between the airport and the stadium, a short ride from the gates.

To the stadium: Take a rideshare to the Steinbrenner Field zone off Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and cross the pedestrian bridge over Dale Mabry Highway, or drive to a stadium lot. Main gates open 90 minutes before kickoff.
After the game: Walk out through Lot A and over the pedestrian bridge to the Steinbrenner Field pickup zone, or back to your lot. The stadium warns that outbound traffic can take 45–60 minutes to clear.
The tradeoff: It’s a district of highways, office parks and shopping malls, with little to walk to in the evening. Downtown, Ybor City and SoHo are a ride away.

Downtown and ChannelsideA walkable city weekend

Stay on the Hillsborough River and the Riverwalk, near Curtis Hixon Park, Sparkman Wharf and the Florida Aquarium.

To the stadium: Rideshare to the Steinbrenner Field zone and cross the pedestrian bridge to the stadium.
After the game: Walk to Steinbrenner Field and book a ride from the pickup zone. Rides can’t be requested from the stadium itself.
The tradeoff: The stadium is three to four miles northwest, with no train or published shuttle, so plan on a rideshare. Downtown hotels charge for valet parking.

Ybor CityHistory, food and nightlife

Stay on 7th Avenue in the old cigar district, among Cuban and Spanish restaurants, with the free streetcar to downtown.

To the stadium: Rideshare to the Steinbrenner Field zone and cross the pedestrian bridge.
After the game: Book a ride back from the Steinbrenner Field pickup zone.
The tradeoff: Ybor is a nightlife district, so evenings on 7th Avenue can run late, and the stadium is about four miles west, so it’s a rideshare each way.

SoHo and Hyde ParkDinner-focused weekends

Stay on South Howard Avenue in South Tampa, next to Bern’s Steak House and a strip of restaurants and bars.

To the stadium: Rideshare to the Steinbrenner Field zone and cross the pedestrian bridge.
After the game: Book a ride back from the Steinbrenner Field pickup zone.
The tradeoff: It’s about three and a half miles south of the stadium, and the area is built around dining rather than sights.

A downtown hotel on the Riverwalk with balconies over the city and river. The hotel says the Glazer Children’s Museum, the Florida Aquarium and the Tampa Museum of Art are within walking distance. It charges no resort fee.

Getting there: Book a ride to the rideshare area at Steinbrenner Field; drivers enter from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Get out there, cross the pedestrian bridge over Dale Mabry Highway toward the stadium and follow signs to your gate.
Getting back: Leave the stadium through Lot A, cross the pedestrian bridge over Dale Mabry Highway to Steinbrenner Field and follow event staff to the pickup area.

All rideshare drop-offs and pickups happen only at Steinbrenner Field; rides can’t be requested from the stadium or nearby. Expect a wait after the game.

Getting there: Buy single-game parking in advance on the Bucs parking page, or pay by card on arrival. Lots open 3.5 hours before kickoff. Follow the message boards on the approach roads to your lot.
Getting back: Police direct traffic out by lot: Lot A exits north onto Dale Mabry, Lots B and C onto Himes Avenue, Lot D onto Tom McEwen Boulevard, and the HCC lots onto Tampa Bay Boulevard. Sold-out games take time to clear.

Lots take credit cards only for day-of parking, you can’t save spaces, and overnight parking is prohibited. The parking page lists no prices and says spots are limited and prices may change, so buy early.

HART runs no published game-day shuttle, and routes 7, 32, 36 and 45 are detoured during select stadium events. The stadium’s Decide to Ride program offers a discounted ride home; ask at a Guest Services booth.
