Downtown and Centennial Olympic ParkWalking to the game and a first visit

Stay among the museums and the Olympic park and walk to the stadium.

To the stadium: Walk west past Centennial Olympic Park to the stadium. SEC District MARTA station is at the stadium’s doorstep if you’d rather ride one stop.
After the game: Walk back with the crowd, or take MARTA from SEC District. Rideshare pickups are about a 10-minute walk from the stadium.
The tradeoff: Downtown hotels list valet parking at a nightly charge. The streets around the stadium, State Farm Arena and the convention center get crowded on event days.

MidtownBars, restaurants and a train to the game

Stay on Peachtree Street near the Fox Theatre and Piedmont Park, and ride MARTA to the game.

To the stadium: Take a southbound Red or Gold train from Midtown station to Five Points, then a westbound Blue or Green train one stop to SEC District.
After the game: Board at SEC District, change at Five Points and ride north. The stadium lists Vine City as a second station.
The tradeoff: It’s a train ride with a change at Five Points each way.

BuckheadShopping, hotel bars and a quieter base

Stay by the Lenox and Phipps malls on Atlanta’s north side, and take MARTA downtown.

To the stadium: Ride MARTA south to Five Points and change to a westbound Blue or Green train for SEC District.
After the game: Ride back from SEC District and change at Five Points. After rush hour, MARTA says some northbound Gold trains need a change to the Red line at Lindbergh Center for Buckhead station.
The tradeoff: It’s about eight miles from downtown. The train ride is long, with a change at Five Points each way.

Hartsfield-Jackson airport areaEarly flights, a car and tailgating

Stay near ATL with a free airport shuttle, then take MARTA from the terminal or drive in to tailgate.

To the stadium: Ride the Red or Gold line north from Airport station to Five Points and change to the Blue or Green line for SEC District. Drivers go to the lot they bought; lots open 4.5 hours before the event.
After the game: Ride back to Airport station and catch the hotel shuttle, or walk back to your lot. Lots close two hours after the game.
The tradeoff: The hotels’ shuttles serve the airport, not the stadium. You change from shuttle to train, or make your own way downtown.

From downtown on footDowntown and Centennial Olympic Parkwalk

Getting there: Walk west past Centennial Olympic Park to the stadium’s Front Porch gates (2, 3 and 4) off International Plaza and MLK St. Gates open 90 minutes before kickoff.
Getting back: Walk back with the crowd. If you’re heading west or to a lot across Northside Drive, use the pedestrian bridge by Gate 1.

The crosswalk on Northside Dr. is closed during most major events. Gate times and gates in use can vary; watch for the stadium’s “Know Before You Go” email.

MARTA’s new Breeze system takes tap-to-pay bank cards and mobile wallets at the faregate; old Breeze cards and tickets no longer work.

Park at Atlantic Station and ride the Fetii shuttleMidtownshuttle

Getting there: Park in the Atlantic Station garage (State Street entrance, near stairwells 10, 15 and 16) and board a Fetii shuttle on 17½ Street. Shuttles run from two hours before kickoff until kickoff; the ride takes about 15–20 minutes to GWCC Bus Lane C.
Getting back: Board at GWCC Bus Lane C. The last shuttle leaves 90 minutes after the game.

Falcons games only. Book in the Fetii app; the garage charges by the hour after two free hours and Fetii adds a small fee. The shuttle isn’t wheelchair accessible.

Getting there: Take the Gold line from Lenox or the Red line from Buckhead station south to Five Points, then a westbound Blue or Green train to SEC District.
Getting back: Ride back from SEC District and change at Five Points. After rush hour, a Gold train may need a change to the Red line at Lindbergh Center to reach Buckhead station.

It’s a long ride with a change each way. Fares are $2.50 each way per the stadium; tap a bank card or phone at the faregate.

Getting there: Set your drop-off near the stadium and follow signs to your gate.
Getting back: Walk to a rideshare zone: Zone 1 at GWCC Bus Lane C on Northside Drive (best from Gate 1, across the Backyard bridge) or Zone 2 on Broad St between Trinity and Mitchell (best from Gates 2–4). Each is about a 10-minute walk.

Prices and waits are set by the app. If the wait is long, the stadium suggests Vine City (from Zone 1) or Garnett (from Zone 2) MARTA stations.

Getting there: Take the hotel shuttle to the domestic terminal. MARTA’s Airport station sits between the north and south baggage claims; ride the Red or Gold line north to Five Points and change to a westbound Blue or Green train for SEC District.
Getting back: Ride from SEC District to Five Points and change to a southbound Red or Gold train to Airport station, the end of the line. Then catch your hotel shuttle.

Check your hotel shuttle’s last run before a night game; Wyndham Garden lists its shuttle to midnight. MARTA fares are $2.50 each way per the stadium.

Getting there: Buy parking in advance at parking.mercedesbenzstadium.com or in the team and stadium apps, and use Waze, which the stadium recommends for event-day street closures. Lots open 4.5 hours before the event.
Getting back: Walk back to your lot. Lots close two hours after the game; no overnight parking.

Tailgate only in front of or behind your car. Gas or propane grills only, no charcoal. Tailgating ends 30 minutes after kickoff, and RVs, buses and trailers aren’t allowed in The Home Depot Backyard.
